PRACTICE PATIENCE:
Rookie forward DaJuan Summers got in a little extra shooting after practice Monday as he stays ready for his number to be called. He has only played 1 minute of garbage time so far, but Kuester said that an opportunity is coming.
But for now, Summers is adjusting to significant bench time for the first time in his career.
"It's tough, but it's a process," Summers said. "I'm more than aware of the work that I have to put in in order to get on the floor."
Summers hasn't picked up Kuester's system as quickly as fellow rookies Jonas Jerebko and Austin Daye, and he was doing a lot of thinking early on. But he said his confidence remains high and he will have to fight the urge to do too much when his time comes.
"You definitely got to fight that," Summers said. "You're so anxious just to be out there you don't want to blow an opportunity, but at the same time if you try too hard that's what you might do.
"You gotta stay smart."
