Considering the relative inexperience of the team and the fact the Pistons have played shorthanded from the second game of the season, the end result isn't surprising.
That said, the Pistons have been a lot better team at The Palace than on the road.
After Sunday's victory over the Washington Wizards, the Pistons stood 6-4 at home, and were in position to win in each of the games.
On the road, it's been a struggle. Detroit is 2-8 away from The Palace, with a game Wednesday in Philadelphia looming.
Sunday's victory over the Wizards was impressive in its workmanlike fashion.
Now, coach John Kuester wants to see that type of game from his team on the road.
"The next challenge for us is doing this with this group on the road," Kuester said. "That is the next challenge. Understanding that we played with a lot of passion (against Washington) and played extremely hard.
"But the next step in our growth is understanding and going on the road and being as focused as we were (Sunday)."
Kuester has been around enough basketball teams that he recognizes a team with potential and promise.
This Pistons team appears to fit that category.
"I've been involved with a number of teams and this group reminds me of a group that is going to continuously get better and they understand that they've got to grind things out," Kuester said.
