The Pistons have gone 1-3 in their last 4 preseason games, losing three straight.
The Pistons played their best defense of the preseason in a 94-85 win over Atlanta (aside from a 32 point second quarter outburst by the Hawks).
Turnovers, defensive lapses, and being outrebounded factored in the Pistons losses: 93-87 to Dallas, 99-88 to Minnesota, and 97-94 to Charlotte.
With Ben Wallace playing limited minutes and Jonas Jerebko out 5-6 months with a partially ruptured Achilles, the Pistons' defense is porous and their rebounding falls off. If the Pistons don't raise their level of play in these areas, the 2010-2011 season will be a struggle.
Austin Daye has been the brightest spot of the Pistons preseason. Taking advantage of the opportunity to start with Jerebko's injury, he is currently in the lead to be Detroit's starting power forward with an average of 14 points and 6.8 rebounds over the last four games....
