At this point, Bynum has more experience than Stuckey playing point guard because he spent a year in the D-League and two playing for Tel Aviv Maccabi in Israel.

But Stuckey has size, skills, athleticism, and a higher ceiling. Check out this Hoops World article on Stuckey being a breakout star next season.

haha but the thing is, bynum is bound to have a breakout year next year. they need to trade one or the other. unless they plan to play together?

I think in this situation you can attempt to let them both grow together. When rebuilding, Jerry West's philosophy is always to draft/acquire the most talented player available... even if that means doubling up in the same position with two players with starting potential.

Certainly one will be traded later, but you can wait until later when you know exactly which pieces you need to complete your 8 man rotation.

+1

At this point, Dumars sees Stuckey as the Pistons' franchise player, which doesn't mean that Bynum doesn't have a long future in Detroit.

Dumars played on a team that had a potent 3 guard lineup. He's not against recreating that for the newest generation of Pistons.

Stuckey and Bynum are apples and oranges, different, but both excellent for what they offer.

I like Stuckey's talent, but Bynum plays with the heart of a Piston. I didn't like it when Bynum got huge minutes; he made mistakes due to fatigue. Stuckey seems to play on his jumpshot and others' efforts. It could be his age, but it could also be a weakness. We'll see if there's improvement over time.

Both Stuckey and Bynum are going through learning curves.

It's my understanding that Kuester is a teacher like Brown. He'll be sure to get Stuckey and Bynum to work on their games.

Also, here's an article about "Stuckey and 5 other NBA 2009 Breakout Stars."
