Our greatest games teach us how to live a better life. Teamwork is especially important when trying to complete a difificult or large task. One thing that sports taught me that's been useful in life is that when there's a lot of data, we can find just about everything because of how inconsistent we are as observers and the variables of effort, skill, and the counter-force of opponent. Therefore, for patterns to emerge, we need to see what is done consistently. And we cannot take what is done consistently as a given, although it is a pitfall we all face, because we will not value what is given; it becomes a part of the environment. I learned that watching Detroit Pistons basketball. It's a valuable lesson. With the lesson, our complaints seem petty. It also led me to evaluate skill and evidence and defined what was important to me.
Teamwork is better than a surplus of individual talent. Everything takes aptitude. Quick reflexes and studying show up the faster the game is. This a part of skill. Basketball is about endurance; everything is done quickly, quickly enough to run the body to pieces. It is a great game to learn to be efficient with food. It is about energy. But mostly this game is a game of endurance.
