From the Indiana Fever Web Site -

Bird Buys Balcony - Pack The House Saturday!

President of Pacers Basketball Operations Larry Bird has purchased the entire balcony of Conseco Fieldhouse for Saturday night’s Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals with the sole intent to fill the arena as the Indiana Fever hosts the Detroit Shock for a one-game, Eastern Conference championship and the right to advance to next week’s WNBA Finals.
The Fever evened the best-of-three series with a 79-75 win Friday evening.

Balcony seats for Saturday’s game, which tips at 7:00 p.m., are free to the public and available beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Conseco Fieldhouse Box Office only.

“I am so proud of the Fever, who are now one game away from the WNBA Finals,” said Bird. “I want all the fans to come to the game and get behind this team for the biggest game in Fever history. So, bring the whole family and the balcony tickets are on me.”

The Conseco Fieldhouse Box Office will open at 10 a.m., and balcony seats will be available until tipoff, or while supplies last. There will be a limit of eight tickets for each individual.

Lower bowl and Krieg DeVault Club Level tickets remain available for the game, and are also on sale at the Box Office, FeverBasketball.com and all Ticketmaster locations. In addition, Kroger Plus Card members may use Kroger Plus Cards to purchase lower level seats for just $12 by showing the card at the box office or entering the Kroger Plus Card number on the Fever website.

Well I must give props to the Indiana Fever community. They are getting much support. Yesterday the Indianapolis Colts took out a full page ad in the paper wishing them luck. Today, Larry Bird invites everyone to come to see the game. Knowing Detroit has won the battle of the play-offs for three years, certainly gives much desire to Indiana. Having a full house of fans cheering is a great support. Detroit has been fighting with their backs against the wall all season. That's when they do their best. Tonight will be the biggest test. It will be a war. Wish there could be more Shock fans there, but just like the other Detroit Champions, the Shock enjoy quieting a loud crowd. Should be a very exciting game. I did smile when reading the article - wondering if Larry Bird was doing this to support the Fever - or has Rick Mahorn brought back a few memories of the "Bad Boys" days. Here's to a good game! :man12:

Well, I have to give it to the Fever. They wanted the game. First WNBA game I ever saw with an attendance of 19,000 plus folks. The Shock had too many turn-overs. Congrats to Tamika Catchings and the Fever. The Shock played hard to get to the play-offs. This just was not their year! I believe the back to back games had both teams tired. Tonight was not as physical as last night. Still an exciting game, but I really expected it to be more physical.

Hopefully, the Shock can bounce back next season.
