Forward Josh McRoberts signed a two-year contract with the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday. Terms were not disclosed, but the second year is only partially guaranteed. McRoberts made $711,000 last season.

"I would play for free," McRoberts joked. "This is where I really wanted to be. I'm really excited to be able to sign back with the Pacers. It's a great opportunity for me, a great situation."

McRoberts averaged 2.4 points and 2.2 rebounds in 33 games last season.

McRoberts, who has had an impressive summer, is working his way back from a sprained ankle suffered during the team's summer league in Orlando, Fla., two weeks ago. He said he is lifting weights but can't play for a couple more weeks.

"I've wanted to prove myself since I was drafted (in 2007)," McRoberts said. "That's been my main thing. To prove myself and prove people wrong. I want to be able to do that this year."
