Daniels is a solid scorer who adds youth and size to the Celts roster. And he can handle the ball well enough to play as a backup point guard.
But he doesn't address the Celts' need for a reserve frontcourt player. I wonder how much of their MLE or BAE the Celts have left to offer Glen Davis?
And I wonder why Bird allowed Daniels to go to the Celts rather than keep him for the Pacers? Does Bird want to help his former team at the expense of his current team? Or are the Pacers in such a tight financial situation they can't afford what should be a well-priced young player? Maybe both?
