In his debut game, New Orleans Hornets Coach Jeff Bower looked concerned after marching on the floor to see his franchise player, Chris Paul, sprawled and writhing in pain from a severely sprained left ankle.

With 40.3 seconds remaining in the third quarter, Paul stepped on the back of Portland's center Joel Przybilla's foot after soaring to make a pass to Hilton Armstrong in the lane. As Paul landed awkwardly, his left ankle turned and he landed hard on the floor, grimacing in pain as he tossed his mouthpiece and grabbed his ankle.

This blows. :bang:

CP 3's one of my favorite players. Firing Byron Scott wasn't the answer so much as giving the Hornets talent and making them believe in themselves. New ownership would be good, too.

If the Hornets' transition defense is already sorry now, how will it look during the 2 weeks that CP3 will be out?

Raw break.

If the Hornets had had another star or two on the roster, they could weather Chris Paul's absence better.

When it rains it pours.
