Detroit 99
Washington 90

Box Score

Detroit finally stopped talking about doing what they needed to win and they did when they matched up against the Wizards who are in even worse shape with the distraction of Gilbert Arenas, Andray Blatche, Javaris Crittenton, etc.

The Pistons beat Washington for the third time this year and just avoided tying their longest franchise losing streak of 14 game.

Washington led early 27-21 after the end of the first quarter, but Detroit buckled defensively and outscored the Wizards 27-11 and take a 48-38 lead a halftime. The Pistons rode the lead to the end of the game.

Richard Hamilton and Rodney Stuckey each scored 19 points. Charlie Villanueva came off the bench to add 23 points.

Antawn Jamison lead Washington with 31 points and 10 rebounds. Randy Foye playing in place of Arenas had 20 points and 10 assists.

We'll see if the Pistons can build on this game with a win over New Orleans at the Palace this coming Friday.
