New York 99
Detroit 91

Box Score

The Pistons' 3 game win streak has gone by the boards now. They'll have to start another one.

Already missing Prince, Gordon, and Bynum, it was quite a shock to see Hamilton out before game time with a stomach bug he picked up from his son. And if that weren't enough, Wilcox was out by halftime after playing 8 flat minutes thanks to a bad back.

Still, the Pistons had a chance to win.

But they gave it away by not aggressively defending New York's pick and roll in the fourth quarter as the Knicks hit a flurry of triples to salt away the game.

It was a game of streaks. The Pistons opened with a 7-0 lead. New York roared back to lead 57-43 at halftime.

In the third quarter, the Pistons outscored the Knicks 27-11 to lead after 3 quarters 70-68. Then the fourth quarter happened.

Playing on one leg, 22 points 4 assists, and 7 rebounds. Ben Wallace had a tremendous game with 16 points and 14 rebounds. Austin Daye did well at shooting guard with 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists. Jason Maxiell 13 points and 6 rebounds.

Charlie Villanueva had 16 points and 6 rebounds, but he hurt the Pistons by committing a flagrant 1 foul and not keeping his head. It was very unlike him. Hopefully, this doesn't become a habit.

I'll be curious to see who suits up for both the Pistons and Celtics at the Wednesday game at the Palace.
