Detroit 92
Boston 86

Box Score

Great way to kick off a 6 game homestand. :jam2:

The Pistons had 15 first half turnovers, leading to 23 Boston points. But they stayed within range trailing 56-48 at halftime. With Boston up by 11, Austin Daye dribbled the length of the court to nail a triple as the clock wound down.

Then in the first half, they switched from man-to-man to a zone that Boston couldn't break down. They put the defensive clamps on Boston, got the lead and held it down the stretch.

Rodney Stuckey carried the Pistons with 27 points, 6 assists, and a career high 11 rebounds. Coming back from the stomach flu, Richard Hamilton facilitated the offense with 8 assists and also contributed 12 points and 4 rebounds. Both Ben Wallace and Maxiell had highlight blocks on dunk attempts by Rasheed Wallace (16 points, 7 rebounds) in the second half.

Ben Wallace, Charlie Villanueva, Jason Maxiell, and Austin Daye contributed to the win also. And though he played just a minute and a half in the first half, DaJuan Summers had an impact at both ends.

The Celtics missed Kevin Garnett, but they're having it easy compared to Detroit.

Hopefully, the Pistons can maintain this kind of effort, intensity, and execution throughout their homestand.
